Chance condition is more likely one that comes from months ago. The vet says that he can’t say with certainty if he has any fractures, Chance is not stable enough to be put on sedation to take X-rays.
The vet believes that his injuries are result of a dog attack where he was infected with babesia gibsoni, this is a possibility. Chance is severely emaciated, and anemic. He is not at the point of needing a blood transfusion, He is infested with heartworms… this is a very concerning situation and we hope that we can still do something about it.
We are taking him home and starting his treatment slowly, he will need to come back next week and hopefully be strong enough to do some other series of tests. He is extremely fragile not only physically but also mentally. He cannot tolerate touch….
He flinches and growls at mínimum attempts to do anything to him. He cannot stand for more than a few seconds…. This poor guy is so broken.. he is a long term project dog for sure..
Even though he is being sweet with me, he really wants not much to do with anyone else around. You really have to give this poor baby a lot of time for him to decompress and get well.
