People all around the internet have been moved by the story of Celeste, a loving mother dog. Celeste was a serene, loving, and sweet child who was cruelly abandoned when she became pregnant at the age of two. She was compelled to give birth in an unsafe environment and live on the streets.
She practically shriveled away to nothing because of her difficult circumstances, despite doing everything she could to take care of her adorable puppies.
The life of a street dog is challenging. Five puppies must also be born, fed, and cared for in addition. It makes likely that Celeste and her five puppies would have been found to be extremely malnourished. She used every nutrient she had to feed and keep her puppies warm during the bitter winter.
Elaine, Celeste’s foster mother, noted that Celeste was “so thin, and those puppies were just feeding like crazy, and she just completed her duty as a parent even though she was starving to d.eath.”
Celeste’s puppies were found to have almost perfect health despite having a difficult early existence. Celeste struggled to keep her five puppies alive, and the effects of starvation could be seen in her appearance. For over five months, the devoted mother had done everything in her power to keep her kids secure and healthy. The one who was at last getting attention was Celeste.
According to the BC SPCA, Celeste would rather starve than starving her puppies. “It’s time she got the same love because she’s given up everything to make sure her puppies are safe after a hard existence outside.”
When BC SPCA foster mother Elaine Nelson-Hosak accepted Celeste and her puppies into her home, it seemed fated. After the passing of her closest friend, Celeste entered her life. It almost seemed as though the timing had been carefully calculated. They required one another. Who better than a canine companion to ease the love of a wounded heart to provide Celeste and her puppies with the love and care they needed?
Following that, Celeste was able to gain weight and strength gradually but steadily thanks to a careful “refeeding” plan. Six teeny, nutrient-dense meals a day were enthusiastically received by her body, and she quickly piled on 90 pounds. Four of her five puppies have also already found loving homes and have reunited with their families, which is wonderful news.
Based on how well she responded to treatment and how much she connected with her foster mother, it was obvious that she had found her forever home. Celeste, who her family refers to as “Momma,” is currently living the life of a spoiled puppy by snuggling on the couch with them and staying warm by the fire. Her former life on the streets is a far cry from this. She has found her calling instead of deteriorating any further. Momma is now safe, cozy, and cherished.
