Yesterday, during our rescue mission for other  dogs, we unexpectedly encountered a mother Labrador with five three-day-old  puppies. Tragically, one puppy had already passed away, leaving four tiny ones who hadn’t even opened their eyes yet. The mother, whom we named Duoduo, was frail and weary, but she showed immense resilience and care for her surviving babies.

Upon negotiating with the owner, we successfully secured Duoduo and her pups. Today, on our way back to Hulan, we reunited with them, feeling both heartache for their plight and hope for their future. Duoduo, despite her exhaustion, seemed to understand that her days of suffering were coming to an end.

Our team shared Duoduo and her babies’ story through videos, prompting an outpouring of concern and support. Kind-hearted individuals, including foreign volunteers, offered to find them loving homes abroad, where they could escape their past hardships.

As we loaded them into our vehicle, we couldn’t help but marvel at Duoduo’s gentle demeanor and the undeniable bond she shared with her offspring. Though one of her babies had passed, we ensured they were all taken care of, including proper arrangements for the deceased.

At the affiliated hospital, our foreign partners awaited Duoduo and her puppies, ready to provide them with the medical care and love they desperately needed. Duoduo, now safe and surrounded by compassionate caregivers, began to relax, knowing her babies were in good hands.

As we bid farewell to Duoduo and her little ones, we felt a mix of emotions—sadness for their past suffering and hope for their bright future. Their journey to find a new home abroad symbolized a new beginning, where they could grow up healthy and loved. The memory of Duoduo’s resilience and the kindness of those who rallied to save her would stay with us, a testament to the transformative power of compassion and determination.
