After his oldest child’s wedding to Nicola Peltz on Saturday (9 April), David Beckham got his son Brooklyn a $500,000 (£383,502) car.

David’s £500,000 gift for his son’s £3 million wedding in Florida might seem like too much, but it’s probably the Beckham equivalent of the £50 M&S gift card most people get from their parents after they get married.

David Beckham helped the car restoration business Lunaz, in which he has a 10% stake, by using one of their classic cars before his son Brooklyn’s wedding in Miami.

The unique Lunaz logo could be seen on the back of the car when Beckham was out and about.

Brooklyn and his bride, American actress Nicola Peltz, later drove the 1954 Jaguar XK140 that had been re-engineered and given electricity. It was worth $500,000 (£383,502).

She bought a 10% stake in the UK-based repair company Lunaz in June 2021 and is an investor in the business.

Lunaz’s home in Silverstone, England, is where the old Jaguar was built from start to finish.

Brooklyn and Nicola went to a restaurant for lunch.

David re-engineered and powered a 1954 Jaguar XK140 as a wedding gift for his son and daughter-in-law. The newlyweds took their new wheels for a spin right away.

New pictures show Brooklyn, 23, and Nicola, 27, driving around the £71 million Palm Beach home that the Transformers stars’ parents own on Sunday morning.

David asked Lunaz, a restoration business in which he has a 10 percent stake, to help him fix up the fancy car.

Over a thousand hours of work went into making Brooklyn and Nicola’s new whip at Lunaz’s Silverstone workshop.

Twelve hundred people worked on the project, and David asked that it be finished in a light blue color. However, MailOnline reports that he “requested his name remain confidential” because it was a unique color.

David Lorenz, founder and CEO of Lunaz, told Auto Futures about the project: “By making this beautiful, electric Jaguar XK140, we are honored to bridge the gap between David Beckham’s work life (he invests in Lunaz) and his family life.”

It comes after reports that David “shed a tear” while giving an emotional speech at Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding. But if photos of that beautiful Jag are any indication, he may have just been upset that he had to give the car to someone else and couldn’t keep it for himself.

Brooklyn and Nicola said their vows at the Peltz’s £76 million seaside home, and The Sun says that football star David couldn’t hold back his tears.

A person who was there said, “David’s speech lasted about five minutes, and at one point he looked like he was going to cry.”

“He was telling me about Brooklyn’s birth and how he wanted to keep him safe.”

“He told them he was sleeping on the hospital floor and had the door locked so no one could get in.”

David had to take a moment to calm down because he got a lump in his throat, but it was a very nice speech.
