Manchester United can be happy with Borussia Dortmund when the German team reaches the Champions League final and MU receives a higher fee for loaning Jadon Sancho.
Jadon Sancho left Old Trafford on loan in January, moving to his old home Dortmund. In the terms of this striker’s contract, if Dortmund reaches the Champions League final, MU will receive additional bonuses. That was also the result of the match that took place last night, when Dortmund defeated PSG 1-0 right at Parc des Princes. Mats Hummels’ only goal helped the black and yellow shirt return to the C1 final after more than 10 years of waiting.
With Sancho, Dortmund spent 3 million pounds to borrow him from MU, after the striker was involved in scandals with coach Erik ten Hag. The German team has also agreed to pay most of Sancho’s salary, this amount is now almost a complete salary because Dortmund is advancing deep into the continental tournament. The terms also clearly state that: Dortmund will pay MU an additional 3.4 million pounds based on the team’s performance. With the team arriving at Wembley, MU will almost receive more money from this deal.
Sancho came to Dortmund by chance after he said he was a “scapegoat” every time MU lost. In fact, it is understandable that the poor performance of the red half of Man City makes the players dissatisfied with the coach. MU is struggling to fight off the injury storm with chaos in the tactical system, while Sancho contributed to bringing Dortmund to the Champions League final despite only having just moved back from the second half of the season.
Dortmund will ask MU to offer to buy Jadon Sancho outright in the summer market. However, if MU demands too high a cost, a loan contract will continue to be considered, because Dortmund is preparing to buy Ian Maatsen from Chelsea for 35 million pounds. Sancho’s future is still a big question because the parent team has not yet spoken about any decision about the English striker.
