Two iconic figures from sports were fortunate enough to be present on one Miami street at the same moment. On March 9, Jimmy Butler of the NBA and Lionel Messi of soccer happened to cross paths in the Floridian metropolis, capturing the attention of many.
NBA star Butler of the Miami Heat pulled over to greet star attacker Messi, an Inter Miami standout and former Barcelona player, as he strolled down the sidewalk.Despite being an NBA star and with the windows of his car tinted, Butler—who is well-known for his appreciation of the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner—said on many times that soccer is his favorite sport. The basketball player also took note of Messi’s casual attire.
Since Butler and Messi are now living in the same Florida city, it’s likely that the two will become good friends as well. Butler is also close friends with Neymar Jr., with whom he traveled to Brazil for a portion of last year’s holiday.
Naturally, Messi is well familiar with Neymar because the two of them forged one of the most disastrous soccer alliances in history while playing together at Barcelona. They also teamed up at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in Ligue 1, the top division of French soccer.
When is the Heat’s next game?On Sunday, March 10, the Miami Heat will host the Washington Wizards at the Kaseya Center in a matchup between teams in the Eastern Conference.
The Wizards are far behind, sitting second-last in the conference after being eliminated from postseason contention with a.159 record. The Heat are currently sixth in the conference.
